Newly released game will get a patch soon

The highly appreciated wall-climber, thief-simulator, eye-candy title from Ubisoft, Assassin's Creed, the PC version, has just been released to game stores and those who didn't get the chance to test it on their consoles hurried to buy it and experience the life of Altair. However, it seems that it wasn't such a great deal since Ubisoft has announced that it is working on a patch for the game to address the numerous complaints received from fans.

The (kind of) funny thing is that, unlike other patches who generally bring new stuff to players, the one planned by the developers is going to remove one thing and, strange enough, it will not necessarily be a bad one: the game will no longer support DirectX 10.1 (but the company plans to rework the implementation). Other details regarding the patch are scarce: the official post says that it "addresses the majority of issues reported by fans" and in "addition to addressing reported glitches, the patch will remove support for DX10.1 in order to rework its implementation." That's all. No release date set, no exact details. Probably it's a bit too early and the work is still in its early stages, but Ubisoft wanted to make sure Assassin's Creed fans know they have heard their complaints and are working on them. One thing is clear, though: the patch will improve the gameplay experience, and that is enough to start with.

In Assassin's Creed, the story follows Altair, a disgraced master Assassin who embarks on an epic quest to restore his status within the Order. After failing to assassinate the Templar Leader and recover the legendary Templar Treasure, Altair is demoted to Uninitiated (the lowest rank in the Assassin order). But he gets the option to redeem himself - and that's the moment when the real adventure begins.
