With Michael Fassbender’s exact role in the upcoming “Assassin’s Creed” movie, which is now in the works at Ubisoft’s movie arm, yet to be announced, the game company has just made public a partnership with an indie film company.

Ubisoft will be working with New Regency to make this film happen, after it spent years in production hell.

In the end, hopefully, fans will see for themselves that this has been worth the wait.

“Bringing aboard New Regency’s renowned production and distribution expertise while maintaining our own creative and financial flexibility ensures that Assassin’s Creed will be a high-quality film that respects the lore and fans of the video game franchise," Jean-Julien Baronnet, Ubisoft Motion Pictures CEO, says in a statement cited by THR.

As noted above, for the time being, Fassbender’s role isn’t clear, with a company spokesperson saying he could be anyone from the game franchise.

“Assassin’s Creed” the movie doesn’t even have an estimated release date yet.
