But still...

The French video game producer not only does intend to remain independent from bigger players, but plans to make a few acquisitions of its own and strengthen its position in the game developing charts. Based on the new purchases the company will be able to provide a wider offer of titles and could pose a threat to more advanced companies.

Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft CEO made things clear in an interview for La Vie Financiere which stated that the company is not for sale and it would also benefit Electronic Arts to have a more powerful competitor in matters of earnings and revenues. Guillemot also said that Ubisoft is looking at two or three deals with companies whose turnover does not exceed 100 million euros. These companies could be small publishers, studios or even known brands that Ubisoft would further develop.

Electronic Arts bought a nearly 20 percent stake of Ubisoft in December and that triggered concern that a total acquisition of the French producer will soon follow. Guillemot didn't block completely the possibility of selling to EA, should he receive a genuinely interesting offer.
