Quite a lot of flavors

THQ has released a few details on the demo they will be putting out to advertise their upcoming UFC Undisputed 2010 fighting game, set to arrive on May 25 on the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Xbox 360 from Microsoft. A version of the game should also be launched, for the first time ever, on the PlayStation Portable handheld.

The publisher is saying that there will be four light heavyweight fighters featured in the demo, the players being able to use them either in the Exhibition Mode or an offline version of the Tournament Mode, which allows for matches between two gamers.

The four fighters featured are Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, who uses Brazilian jiujitsu moves; Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida, who is the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion; Rashad "Sugar" Evans, the former champion who was defeated by Machida; and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, the man who will appear on film playing the role of B. A. Baracus.

Apparently, THQ is not revealing when the demo will arrive on Xbox Live and on the PlayStation Network, only confirming that the aim is to deliver it at least one month before the launch of the title, which would mean April 25. The demo for UFC 2009 Undisputed was quite a popular one, some gamers still playing it after the launch of the full game.

Publisher THQ and developer Yuke's are promising quite a lot of improvements over last year’s UFC Undisputed videogame. The controls have been tightened up, more fighting styles, including karate, Greco-Roman wrestling and sambo, have been introduced, the customization options have been expanded to include more than 200 moves and the array of useful strategies has been expanded. The PlayStation 3 version of UFC Undisputed 2010 has exclusive content, including fighters Royce Gracie, Jens Pulver and Dan Severn and some specific ultimate matches.
