Good news for “Twilight” fans: casting for the final two “Breaking Dawn” films is going on smoothly, with a possible candidate for Renesmee, Edward and Bella’s daughter, being found in Mackenzie Foy.

According to reports in the media cited by Entertainment Weekly, the 9-year-old actress is the frontrunner for the part of the Twilight’s youngest vampire, Renesmee.

It must be no secret to fans that the final original book of the vampire saga sees Bella and Edward parents of a child, a little girl whom they decide to name Renesmee.

Casting for the part seems to favor big-eyed Mackenzie.

“It’s a big day for Twihards. First Maggie Grace signs on to play Irina. Now EW has learned that little 9-year old Mackenzie Foy is inches away from signing on to play Renesmee, Edward and Bella’s vampire / human love child that’s a central role in the final installment of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn,” EW reports.

For the time being, though, this remains just a rumor as Summit Entertainment is obstinately refusing to comment on the possibility of having Mackenzie in the film.

However, even if this report is accurate, that still leaves many questions unanswered, like how the film will present Renesmee growing old.

“It’s not yet clear how the diminutive actress, who’s appeared in one episode each of television shows FlashForward and ‘Til Death, will portray the character who ages a full 17 years in only seven,” EW further says.

“Sources have suggested that director Bill Condon will employ similar digital effects to those used by David Fincher in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, where Foy’s face would be digitally transferred onto the face of a younger child,” the same report says.

There is also the possibility of using various actors for the same part as well.

“It’s also probable that the studio will hire a younger child in some capacity, too,” says the same e-zine.

In other “Breaking Dawn” news, Kellan Lutz, who plays Emmett of the Cullen clan, says that fans should not worry about the much talked-about birth scene because it will turn out just wonderfully.

“I think they should show it and have Emmett in the background laughing. I love the way that they’re showing it. I really thought that was going to be really a tough thing to show,” the actor says in a recent interview cited by E! Online.
