We're pretty sure that many people out there still regret the old landline phones (well, at least to some extent), and this category is exactly the one targeted by the Phone X Phone, a Japanese accessory meant to turn the ultra-mobile smartphone from Apple into somewhat of a landline phone.

The reason why this device, available on Hashy-Topin, isn't actually capable of turning the iPhone 4 into a landline phone is the fact that the phone landline has nothing to do with the Phone x Phone, users still making phone calls via the smartphone's cellular network.

However, they won't have to hold the device to their ears, given the fact that the Phone x Phone's handset actually works, allowing users to speak as if they were using a real landline phone.

Practically, the Phone x Phone is quite a special docking station, that not only charges the Apple smartphone, via its built-in 30-pin connector, but also enables a higher level of versatility and, ultimately, more fun, especially if you're a fan of all things retro.

Furthermore, in order to cater for the needs of people that are simply in love with bright, shiny colors, the Phone X Phone is available in several catchy color versions, including blue, yellow and pink.

Luckily, if you're more of a classic type, don't worry, black and white versions of the Phone x Phone have also been developed.

Pricing for the Phone X Phone from Hashy-Topin has been set at around $25, which is actually quite affordable, all things considered, but on the other hand, it's not likely that you'll be able to get one outside of Japan, and certainly not before January (and even if you do, you'll most likely have to pay quite a huge amount of money in order to have it shipped).
