Don't know about you but I am getting tired off all this “world's fastest,” “world's lightest” trend that seems to have become even more stronger during the last couple of years, Trendnet just releasing what they say to be the “world's smallest 150Mbps micro wireless N USB adapter,” whatever that means.

Anyway, moving past all this marketing talk, I can pretty much confirm the fact that this is indeed small (although I can't actually say it's way smaller that any other similar devices) making it pretty easy to carry around with you without feeling the need of removing it from your laptop or netbook since it extends only 0.3 inches (0.8 cm) from the edge of the computer.

Furthermore, Trendnet also managed to somehow fit in there a WPS button for easy setting up a encrypted wireless connection without having to enter cryptic passwords that no one seems to ever remember.

This is indeed a pretty great feature to have, but I think that more users would be interested in the actual range they get while using this thing as these compact USB adapters are usually pretty constrained when it comes to range, their throughout dropping visibly one you move away from the router.

"The TEW-648UBM eliminates size constraints when using wireless adapters.

On-the-go users no longer have to worry about leaving their adapter plugged into their laptop." stated Sonny Su, Technology Director for Trendnet.

"As well, the addition of a WPS button makes it really easy to connect to WPS enabled routers and access points."

This 150Mbps Micro Wireless N USB Adapter, model TEW-648UBM, is available right now for purchase, Trendnet's recommended retail price being set at $39.99, making it a pretty expensive upgrade solution for those laptops that are still stuck in in the 802.11g wireless dark ages.
