Even with all the so-called trouble surrounding the falling prices of DRAM chips and modules in general, Transcend decided to launch a new memory kit, one which is part of its aXeRam series.

It seems that, while not exactly in such great numbers, transcend plans to more than cope with the presence of Corsair's newest memory offer.

Just a short time ago, the company released the previously-revealed Vengeance line of DDR3 kits of up to 16 GB, all of which had a clock speed of 1,600 MHz, except for one of 8 GB which worked at 1,866 MHz.

Transcend's new offer also has a total capacity of 8 GB, but it works at a frequency of 2,000 MHz and at latencies of 9-11-9-24.

In other words, it is composed of two 4 GB modules with those exact same specifications, meaning it should be able to help turn any system into a powerhouse.

As one may have already guessed, it is aimed at gamers and overclocking enthusiasts mostly, since such high speed ratings are hardly necessary for most consumer-oriented applications.

It should probably be noted that the Transcend aXeRam 8 GB DDR3-2000 kit has XMP support and operates on a current of 1.6V.

“With a combination of high capacity, high clock speed and exceptionally low voltage of just 1.6V, the new modules are ideal for hardcore gamers, overclockers and professional users reap the benefits of a 64-bit operating system,” states the press release.

“Assembled with high quality finned heatsinks and backed by Transcend’s Limited Lifetime Warranty, these DDR3 memory modules ensure even the most demanding users get the most out of their high-end systems,” the announcement added.

Unfortunately, while said press release did detail the new memory offer, even saying it is backed by a lifetime warranty, it held nothing in the way of pricing information.
