Lionhead, as the developer, and Microsoft, as the publisher, have announced that their action role-playing mix Fable III will be getting additional downloadable content, called “Traitor's Keep,” set to be launched on the Xbox Live Marketplace on March 1 in all territories, with the price point set at 560 Microsoft Points, which is the equivalent of about 7 dollars.

The description coming from Microsoft reads, “The Traitor's Keep game add-on continues the journey as fans venture into three new levels called Ravenscar Keep, Clockwork Island, and the Godwin Estate, taking on new quests and encountering a mysterious prisoner. Traitor's Keep also comes packed with 250 Gamerscore points and additional content.”

It seems that the new DLC is not linked to the main story of Fable III in any way and that it will simply allow some fans to explore new spaces and battle new enemies.

Microsoft has also confirmed that Fable III will be launched on the PC at long last, although players will still have to wait until the middle of May to buy it.

Fable III was launched on the Xbox 360 late in 2010 and got pretty good reviews initially, with critics praising the freedom that the game delivered and mix between the initial revolutionary stage and the burden of promises that emerges after the middle of the game.

When the game was still in development, both Microsoft and Lionhead said that they planned to launch Fable III on the PC at the same time as on the console, with Microsoft actually saying that the game would lead a renewed focus on the PC on its part.

It's not clear whether Lionhead is working on more DLC for Fable III to launch later in the year or whether the Peter Molyneux led team is already in the initial design stages for a possible Fable IV.
