Fable 3 has finally received a concrete release date for the PC platform, after Microsoft, its publisher, and Lionhead, its developer, made fans wait a very long time.

Fable 3 was officially scheduled for launch at the same time for the PC and Xbox 360, last October, but only managed to reach the Microsoft console.

At that time, the two companies revealed that the PC Fable 3 project wasn't scrapped and that more details would follow soon.

Many months have passed with just tiny teases and scraps of information surfacing, but Microsoft has now confirmed the official release date of Fable 3 on the PC.

Owners of the platform will be able to enjoy more Fable goodness on May 17, in North America, and May 19, in Europe and the rest of the world.

Microsoft and Lionhead, alongside the scheduling of the release date, have also promised that extra goodies will be added to this edition of Fable 3.

"Along with the same great content found in the Xbox 360 version, you also will be able to take advantage of the Limited Collector's Edition 2 in-game digital content that includes a new quest, region, outfit and dog breed. In addition, players can try their hand at the PC-only ―hardcore mode, which offers a higher level of difficulty."

Fable 3 has had a pretty troubled development cycle and, when it was finally released for the Xbox 360 console, it was plagued by plenty of bugs, issues and technical glitches that made customers extremely angry.

Lionhead did launch quite a few patches and it seems that the game is now working quite well on the Microsoft console.

Hopefully, when the game is released for the PC, things will go much smoother and fans will get a great experience after waiting for the last few months.
