Racing games have always followed a pretty simple recipe: take a considerable collection of cars with real or virtual brands and let them loose across a variety of tracks, circuits or even cities. But a few developers have added their own spices to the concoction and gained critical acclaim for doing so.

Such is the case with Criterion Games, which released, at the beginning of last year, Burnout Paradise. While the game impressed through its detailed city, great car handling and stunning graphics, the way the team supported it after its launch was the most interesting, as a variety of downloadable content (DLC) has been released for it.

We've already seen the Legendary Cars Pack, which has four cars that closely resemble vehicles made famous by movies or TV shows, and yesterday, just like the team announced, a new type of cars was set to be racing through the streets of Paradise City: Toy ones. Players are now able to download the new cars from either the in-game store, the Xbox Live Marketplace or the PlayStation Network.

The nine vehicles, eight cars and one motorcycle, are split into three packs. The first one contains all the new additions and has the best quality/price ratio as it will cost 12.99 dollars / 12.99 Euros / 9.99 pounds / 1000 MS Points. The Toy Collection 1 pack contains just the Hunter Cavalry, Hunter Manhattan, Krieger WTR and the Jansen P12 cars in small form and retails for 5.99 dollars / 5.99 Euros / 4.99 pounds / 480 MS Points. The same price tag can be found on the Toy Collection 2 pack, which contains the Takedown 4x4, Inferno Van, GT Concept and Hunter Citizen. Also, for players who want just a few cars, the vehicles can be purchased separately but the collections are the best in terms of value for money.

In conclusion, the Criterion team has delivered another great DLC pack and will surely keep them coming as there are three more packs announced, the Boost Specials, Big Surf Island and Cops and Robbers. We'll be sure to keep you posted as soon as new information is leaked about these future packs.
