We first met the ultra-thin AT200 Android tablet at the IFA fair in September, but since then we haven’t heard all that much about this Toshiba creation. However, all this is set to change as it now seems like the tablet will launch in the first part of December with pre-orders already starting on several European websites.

The AT-200 tablet will be available in two versions, one including 16GB of storage space and the other 32GB, and both of these models were spotted online by NDevil.

Prices are set at 479€ ($637 US) for the 16GB AT200, while doubling the memory capacity will set you back another 100€ and some change, for a grand total of 599€ (roughly $790 US).

Besides the different amount of storage space installed, the 10.1-incher is powered by an TI OMAP 4430 Cortex A9 dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and Google’s 3.2 version of the Android OS, also known as Honeycomb.

The rest of the Toshiba AT200 specifications list includes a 5MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing snapper, Micro HDMI, Micro USB, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, while the built-in battery can provide power for an estimated 8 hours.

The 10.1-inch screen installed has a native resolution of 1280x800 pixels.

All these are packed inside a thin and light chassis measuring just 7.7mm depth, which actually makes it 1.1mm thinner than Apple's iPad 2, and weighting in 558 grams.

According to Conrad.de, one of the retailers who made the tablet available for pre-order, the Toshiba AT200 should become available on December 7.

Toshiba hasn’t mentioned whether the AT200 might get an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but I guess that it pretty much has to do so if it wants to remain competitive with other tablets that will also launch this Holiday season, like Asus’ Transformer Prime.
