BestBuy's exclusivity on the Portege Z835 Ultrabook seems to have come to an end as the company has now listed both this model and the more powerful Z830 on its retail website with prices starting at $929 (roughly 689 EUR).

The lower-end version of the Toshiba Ultrabook is powered by an 1.4GHz Intel Core i3 processor seconded by 4GB of system memory and an 128GB SSD, and has a retail price of $929.

Its older brother on the other hand, the more powerful Portege Z830, is available with faster 1.7GHz Core i5 or 1.8GHz Core i7 processors, seconded by 4GB and 6GB of RAM, respectively and it has a starting price of $1199 (about 900 EUR).

According to Netbook News, the only difference between the Best Buy version of the Portege Z835 and the one listed on Toshiba's website, besides the lower $799.99 (594 EUR) price tag of the former, is the inclusion of a fingerprint reader.

The rest of the specs list is shared between all the models we talked about and it sports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Gigabit LAN connectivity, HDMI, VGA and mini-DP video outputs, a 1.3MP webcam and a single USB 3.0 port. The 13.3-inch display has a native resolution of 1366x768 pixels.

Toshiba's Ultrabooks also come with support for Intel's Wireless Display technology and feature an illuminated keyboard for making typing in the dark a lot easier.

All of these are housed inside an elegant case measuring a mere 15.9mm (0.6 inches) in thickness, which is constructed from magnesium alloy and aluminum.

Toshiba has managed to achieve such a thin profile without giving up on using a removable battery, so users can freely swap the 6-cell power pack when it isn't able to come anywhere near (due to prolonged ware) the 8 hours of autonomy claimed by the company.
