Toni Braxton and her family are the stars of the latest reality show: “Braxton Family Values” premiered the other night and, judging by reports online, it will surely turn out to be a hit with audiences.

If there’s one thing about the Braxtons that can make them stand apart from the other families making fortune in reality television, that’s the fact that they’re “real” both on and off camera, it is being said.

Early reviews of the show note that there’s something very relatable about the five sisters, Toni, Traci, Towanda, Trina and Tamar, and the way they handle things in their professional and personal life.

As the video below can also confirm, whether they’re jealous of each other, supportive or simply angry, the sisters make it a point of speaking their mind, even when what they have to say may sting a bit.

On the season premiere, Tamar the diva stole the show: she’s married to Toni’s manager and she wants to launch her own career, since she’s sick of being known solely as Toni’s sister.

She’s also incredibly outspoken and says the darndest things, even if there’s a camera on her when she does that.

Because of this and because they obviously make no attempt at sugarcoating their life, the Braxtons have already won over many viewers with just the first episode of their new reality series.

Also on the same show, Toni explains how it came to happen that she filed for bankruptcy when she was at one point the most successful singer of her generation.

Toni sold millions of records, won countless accolades and even had an extremely lucrative residency in Las Vegas, but none of that could save her from filing from bankruptcy.

Still, as we also noted over the weekend, her financial issues are not caused by her diva spending but rather by her health issues: Toni is still recovering from a bad bout of Lupus.
