So, the PS3 is getting a game... Wow, I can't write 'cause my hands are shaking with excitement...! Sierra Entertainment has just announced today that TimeShift will be available on Sony's PS3 sometime this autumn, having already debuted at Sony's Gamer's Week event in San Diego, California yesterday.

TimeShift is a first-person shooter, which Sony would just love to use against Halo 3. Unfortunately, it doesn't stand a chance, not because of the game, but because of the console itself: it's still too expensive, although Blu-ray diode production costs have dropped and it lacks titles... a lot.

However, the game is said to immerse the player in a deep storyline as the main character is equipped with a unique quantum suit that slows, stops and reverses the flow of time. Sounds more than catchy what can I say, but something like this has to be backed up by a marvelous gameplay experience.

The robust multiplayer mode is said be that factor, as gamers will be able to take the time control powers online with up to 16 players battling it out across seven game modes. In addition, gamers will also be able to customize their own game mode using over 60 options with a total of 14 multiplayer maps to choose from. Al Simone, SVP of Global Marketing for Sierra Entertainment is quite confident of the game's success when it's going to be written on Blu-ray discs: "Sierra Entertainment and Sabre Interactive are changing the way gamers play FPS games by giving them the ultimate weapon - Time," said Al Simone. "TimeShift will compete with the best shooter games of the year on any platform and will offer PLAYSTATION 3 gamers a visceral new experience unlike any they have ever seen or played before."

What did I tell you? They want to compete with today's popular FPSs. OK, I'm shutting up on this one and I hope to God that they achieve what they have in mind. As much as I hate to write about Sony's failure with the PS3, I still am a fan of the console. For the PS3, a FPS like TimeShift is kind of like a pill. All they have to do now is make it easy to swallow.
