Video game publisher Electronic Arts has officially announced that its gold simulation Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 will be launched on the PlayStation 3 home gaming console from Sony and on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft on March 27 of this year in North America and on March 30 in the rest of the world.

The developers have highlighted the changes that Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 has made to the swing mechanics of the series, described as the biggest in more than a decade.

The EA Sports team working on the golf simulation says that gamers will now have more control than ever over ball position, stance and swing tempo, allowing them to replicate the moves used by real world PGA Tour players.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 also offers full support for the Kinect motion tracking system from Microsoft, including the voice command system.

The game also offers the full Masters course for the first time in the series and players get a game mode that allows them to relieve the biggest moments from the player career of Tiger Woods.

There are also new online Country Club features, allowing friends to play together and develop rivalries.

Brent Nielsen, who is the executive producer working on the game, stated when the announcement was made that, “Our fans asked us to deliver a new level of fidelity and authenticity to Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 and our team delivered with the ability to literally choose millions of shot combinations through our new swing mechanic. Fans will now be able to experience unparalleled control on the virtual golf course.”

George Peckham, the general manager at the Global Publishing Group from Microsoft, added, “As the first of the EA SPORTS titles to feature Kinect for Xbox 360 integration in 2012, the controller-free and voice-enabled Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 experience will bring a whole new level of fun to fans worldwide.”
