EA Sports, the simulation division of publisher Electronic Arts, has announced that it is introducing a new service called Season Ticket for five of its most important titles: Madden NFL, NHL, FIFA, Tiger Woods PGA Tour and NCAA Football.

The Season Ticket will cost 200 Microsoft Points or 24.99 dollars for one full year and will only be available on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and on the PlayStation 3 from Sony, with subscriptions now offered through both the Live Marketplace and the PSN Store.

Those who get the new service will be able to get a full game digital download for the yearly installments of the five mentioned franchises three full days before they are available in physical form on store shelves.

They will also get access to exclusive content on the web and will get membership recognition in their games via a special in-game badge that will show their loyalty to EA Sports and to its games.

Season Ticket holders will also get a 20 percent discount for all the digitally distributed content they will buy and full access to the multiplayer side of the games.

The Season Ticket will be launched in partnership with GameStop, the retail chain that specializes in video games, with a marketing campaign aimed at the 11 million members of the PowerUp rewards program.

Peter Moore, who is the president at the EA Sports division, has stated, “EA SPORTS Season Ticket is an exciting program for our core fans – it lets our biggest fans play earlier, play more and play better than anyone else.”

He added, “EA SPORTS Season Ticket is an important step in our vision for transforming how deeply fans connect with the sports games they love through digital products and services. We’re excited to continue evolving EA SPORTS Season Ticket as we listen to what consumers want most in their gaming experiences.”
