CipSoft, an independent German developer and publisher of online games for various platforms, just announced the releases of a new high resolution client for its mobile MMORPG called TibiaME. TibiaME is one of the first MMORPG game for mobile phone worldwide.

At the moment the game seems to be played by more than 50,000 players, and the company usually releases two major content updates and multiple smaller episodic updates per year. Besides its compatibility with all Symbian S60v5 devices, the new client also offers full touch screen support and can be used both in portrait and landscape mode.

We already planned to create a new client in order to fully support devices with bigger screen resolutions,” explains Ben Zuckerer, product manager for TibiaME. “However in order to really make it look great on bigger screens, we decided to completely redraw all of our content as well.”

The developer stated that no matter what client user have installed on their mobile phone (Symbian S60v3, S60v5 or a java client), they will be able to login to the same game worlds, but only the S60v5 client will feature the new high resolution look at the moment. Further, it seems that the company has plans for a new client for S60v3 devices, that will improve the graphics for those with older smartphones.

TibiaME new Symbian 5th Edition client is available for free and can be downloaded starting today. CipSoft's MMORPG doesn't require a monthly fee to play unless you go for the Premium version of the mobile game.

The paid version of the game offers players a few extra benefits: Full Experience for all defeated opponents beyond level 10; Lose less experience points when you die (5% instead of 10%); Board ships to explore premium only areas; Use all portals; Get listed in the Highscores; Found a guild and invite your friends to fight at your side; More entries in your friends or ignorelist; Receive up to 20 letters in your inbox; Always get online, even when the game server is full; Recover your character via SMS, in case you forget your password. All these benefits are coming for the monthly price of 3 Euros.

CipSoft also announced earlier this year that is already working on an iPhone client for TibiaME as well. The submission is planned for 1. September 2010. The iPhone client will be distributed for free, as well, in the AppStore.
