Has not been given an actual US or European price yet though

The desktop PC case market can safely say it has increased its population now that Thermaltake has officially launched a new version of a certain enclosure that it originally unveiled about two years ago.

Desktop PCs are more easily assembled from parts than notebooks, which can't actually allow for more than minor hardware changes at best.

Indeed, anyone with a decent grasp of a PC's composition can create their own machine, which is why standalone components have seen such success.

PC cases are one of the IT segments that cover a wide range of form factors and features, and Thermaltake has just announced its latest contribution to this field.

Essentially, it is a redesign of the V3 Black Edition that the outfit introduced back in 2009.

Then again, saying it is a redesign might be a bit much, seeing as how hardly anything is changed, save for the addition of an HDD dock and a few other, mostly minor things.

Indeed, the newcomer, dubbed V3 BlacX Edition, is a mid-tower chassis whose top supports a built-in HDD docking station.

Both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch hard disk drives will be able to interface with it, in case users don't have a portable unit or some such on hand.

As for everything else, the item has a full weight of 4.8 kilograms and measures 473 (D) x 190 (W) x 445.6 (H) mm (18.62 x 7.48 x 17.51 inches).

The inside has a 2.5-inch and four 3.5-inch drive bays (for SSDs and HDDs), plus space for three exposed 5.25-inch bays (for ODDs, fan controllers, etc.).

Other specifications include blue LEDs on the included 120mm front fan (speed is of 1,000 RPM) and one USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 connector and audio jacks (mic, speaker) on the I/O panel.

Unfortunately, Thermaltake did not say how much money prospective buyers have to prepare for when this particular invention makes it into online stores.
