The iPhone 3G is taking the Asian market by storm now, after being the most successful handset in the U.S. Taiwan is the first on the list, and most are expecting that its success be just as great as it was in the States, at least in the last part of the year. The iPhone is expected to arrive in about one month and, given that it will be on sale for the first time during the winter holiday season, the predictions about its success will probably be exceeded.

After the arrival of this piece of news, reports indicated that potential clients were very pleased with it, with rumors saying that the leading mobile and fixed operator, Chunghwa Telecom (CHT), after signing with Apple, made ambitious development plans based on this new appearance on the Taiwanese market.

Other speculations, however, have it that CHT was pretty sure of the iPhone's success even before signing, since it already had the past experience with Nokia, with whom collaboration failed to flourish, thus it had tested such theories.

Chunghwa is to become the first local phone operator in Asia to distribute the iPhone after Apple released in 22 other countries in July. This makes for a pretty big deal in Taiwan, and other Asian countries are expected to follow. It is already being said that China is the next one to join Apple's list.

The best choice in more than 50% of the cases regarding Taiwanese citizens would be the chance to buy the device without signing a contract with any mobile phone distributer, but CHT has not yet reported anything about the price or the conditions for purchasing the iPhone.

Either way, this translates into good news for both Apple and Asian citizens, as many of them can now hope that the much wanted device will be available in their country as well.
