And be in stores before Christmas

Red is definitely a good color for dressing about any mobile device on the market, and that's why Apple might consider making a red version of its new iPhone 3G.

While this might sound crazy for some, it's not at all a thing that can't be done with ease. Why? Well, because the iPhone 3G, unlike the first-generation iPhone, comes in a plastic case. And it's far simpler to change the color of plastic than the one of the metal from which the first iPhone's case is made.

Furthermore, you might already know about the (PRODUCT) RED campaign - Apple is selling red iPods (both shuffle and nano) and parts of the revenue is given to Global Fund, which raises money to fight AIDS in African countries. So there you have it, another reason to make red iPhone 3Gs.

Of course, there is nothing coming from Apple (yet) to confirm the future existence of red iPhones. But rumors say that the Cupertino-based company will start selling iPhone 3Gs in the new color before Christmas.

If all this is true, the winter holidays will bring joy not only to iPhone fans, but also to the AIDS affected African people, since the red iPhone 3G will surely be at least as successful as its other versions.

Sold in one million units worldwide in only three days, iPhone 3G is undoubtedly a commercial hit, following the footsteps of the first iPhone, released in mid-2007. If red is added to the already existing black and white versions of the new iPhone, then Apple's estimations (and dream) to ship 10 million units, worldwide, by the end of 2008, have high chances to come true.

Now all we can do is wait for a red confirmation to come from Apple.
