No matter how you look at it one thing is certain, there are more than enough iPad and iPhone case models to go around, but not so many of them are actually so feature rich as Portable Sound Laboratories' iMainGo protective enclosure that also adds a stereo speaker to the mix.

Just recently announced, the latest generation of this case, the MainGo X takes this enclosure one step further, the Portable Sound Laboratories adding a rechargeable lithium-ion battery to the mix as a response to its customer feedback.

As a result, this device can now provide you with up to 12 hours of music playback, the 5.7x3.8x2.4 inches enclosure being compatible with a wide number of smartphones and portable audio players such as Microsoft's Zune (via a 3.5inch standard jack) as well as almost all the iPods and iPhones in existence, the latest generation Shuffle being the only one such device to miss from the compatibility list.

And , although this device weight only around nine ounces, Portable Sound Laboratories says the iMainGo was tuned for amazing bass reproduction while also coming with a ultra-efficient digital music amplifier.

Furthermore, more of these units can be daisy-chained together for a more powerful sound, the iMainGo X also featuring a clear screen that allows its users to operate the player without having to open the case and remove the device.

Built out of a water resistant neoprene material, the iMainGo X is bundled together with a plug-in charger, a plastic backing plate, a custom travel back as well as a wrist Strap and a larger carry strap, so you surely get all that you need to take this thing anywhere with you.

The device is available right now for purchase, the iMainGo X coming in at $70, a OK price point if you consider this isn't just a protective case, but a portable speaker system as well.
