Today I have found out about a mobile phone that has been roaming in Mexico for quite a while, a phone that nobody seems to know about in the rest of the world. The handset I'm writing about here is the Zonda MPTREZ.

This device has a lot to offer its users due to it being one of the few cellphones on the market having a touchscreen interface and because it can be used as an MP3 player, as it name suggests it.

The MPTREZ is a tri-band GSM mobile phone working on 850, 1800 and 1900 MHz networks and it has a 176x220 pixels resolution 65k colors TFT touchscreen display that will make you happy of your choice (I suppose this is the right thing to say in case you live in Mexico :) ), a 1.3 megapixel digital camera, 1 GB of built-in audio-video memory and a microSD memory expansion card slot for the storage needy ones living among us, remote control headphones, RCA and data cables to connect the handset to your home or car sound system, all of these carefully packed up inside a package measuring 96.2x48.3x17.8 mm and weighing 89 grams.

Not only can you listen to your favorite songs if you own such a device but you can also watch video files in MP4 format at the same quality delivered by a video iPod. I won't give you my word on this one because I have found about it from a Mexican user of the MPTREZ that has posted this piece of info as a comment following an article presenting the cellphone.

The choice to trust this info is yours but I tend to give the guy some credit because if he doesn't know, then who does? :)

The ones of you that have decided to get the MPTREZ and enjoy all the touch and music goodies that he offers should know the handset is on sale in Mexico for as much as 3400 Pesos, this meaning in US dollars approximately 300 $.

If you haven't decided yet to go on a trip to Mexico and buy it, I want to remind you that it can be a pretty good option to the touchscreen enabled KE850 phone just launched by LG.
