Considering how popular tablets have become ever since Apple released the iPad, all these solutions that transform your iPad into something that can only be described as a notebook seem like a step back to me, but I guess sometimes is pretty hard managing to get some work done without an actual keyboard.

And this is where ZAGG enters the stage with its ZAGGmate with Keyboard that adds a Bluetooth keyboard to your iPad as well as an innovative pop up stand to support the iPad either vertically or horizontally, providing users with 10 different viewing angles.

Made out of aircraft-grade aluminum (whatever that may mean) and featuring what seems to be a pretty comfortable QWERTY keyboard, this device can also act as a simple case for your iPad, protecting it from drops and rough treatment by simply placing your tablet screen-side down on the keyboard.

Although this sounds pretty convenient I can't stop but wondering if your display won't actually get scratched during transportation as this is a pretty common occurrence in laptops designs that have their screen lying flat on the keyboard.

If you are worried about this happening to you, then you should place some kind of cloth between the keyboard and the iPad's screen for added protection or go for the regular ZAGGmate that drops the Bluetooth keyboard and comes just as an iPad case, although it still can pop up the iPad at various angles.

Unfortunately, we don't know when will these two ZAGGpad models become available, but ZAGG does allow you to sign up to receive an e-mail notification when this will happen.

Price wise, the ZAGGmate will cost $70, while the ZAGGmate with Keyboard will be available for $100 so these aren't cheap by any means, the regular ZAGGmate being particularly expensive for what is just a protective case. (via Ubergizmo)
