The Xbox Live Deals for this week have been made available by Microsoft. They are exclusive for people who own an Xbox Live Gold membership. For 400 Microsoft Points, that is only five dollars, Xbox Live Gold subscribers can get Worms 2: Armageddon, Peggle and Duke Nukem 3D. For 800 Microsoft Points, about ten dollars this time, they can purchase Serious Sam HD, Battlefield 1943 and Call of Duty Classic.

Worms 2: Armageddon is a well-known, very accessible, turn-based strategy game where players control an army of little worms and fight using some very unusual weapons that include a Holy Hand Grenade or a Sheep Launcher. Peggle is a casual title developed and published by PopCap that involves aiming and firing a ball that bounces and eliminates colored pegs throughout 55 levels.

Duke Nukem 3D is a game that needs no introduction, the legendary PC first-person shooter. The Xbox Live version includes the ability to rewind time when the player dies and record videos to be shared with friends. In the same ironic vein as Duke Nukem is Serious Sam HD, the High Definition remake of the original Serious Sam. It is a purebred first-person shooter that has barely any story, but that makes up for that in monster numbers, both in type and token, and the variety of the weapons.

Battlefield 1943 was the best selling downloadable title on the Xbox Live Marketplace in 2009. It is a World War II-themed online first-person shooter that boasts huge sprawling battlegrounds and a big variety of vehicles. Call of Duty Classic, the first installment ever to appear in what has become one of the most popular video-game franchises of all time, supports intense multiplayer battles, as well as a hectic story mode influenced by movies like Saving Private Ryan or TV series like Band of Brothers.
