Two new games were launched this week on Microsoft's Games on Demand service. Medal of Honor: Airborne and Soulcalibur IV are available for purchase and download from the Xbox Live Marketplace. Their value is also better than usual, with both titles sporting a 20-dollar price tag. This is a kind of novelty for this downloadable-distribution service, as numerous critics have underlined that many old releases available for download are too expensive.

Airborne is the last World War II-themed shooter in Electronic Arts' Medal of Honor franchise. It provides a neat twist to the usual gameplay, adding the element of choice when it comes to the way the player enters the battlefield, as they can parachute in any open location in the level. This feature carries on to the multiplayer component of the title. Also, all weapons are customizable, allowing gamers to fight on their own terms in both single-player and online. The title is available in English only, in Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Soulcalibur IV is a 3D fighting game developed and distributed by Namco Bandai that focuses on weapons, rather than martial arts. It's the fifth title in the Soulcalibur series and it features five modes, Story, Arcade, Training, Musem and Tower of the Lost. Moreover, Soulcalibur IV allows players to create new characters and also includes special appearances from three famous Star Wars figures, Yoda, Darth Vader and his apprentice from The Force Unleashed, Starkiller. Soulcalibur IV is available in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish, only in the Xbox Live regions.

This brings the number of titles on Microsoft's Games on Demand service to a hefty 126, proving that this endeavor has been successful for the company. The downloadable-distribution platform offers for purchase hit games from the Xbox 360's past, but also well-received titles from the original Xbox, like Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory or Indigo Prophecy
