Also a new adventure

CD Projekt has recently released a boatload of new things to keep fans of its RPG The Witcher very happy. There's a new patch out, taking the game to version 1.3, there's a new adventure added to the main game and there's also a beta phase adventure editor that lets you use the assets from the Witcher and its game engine to create new modules and even new complete campaigns.

Adam Kici?ski, who is Chief Executive Officer at CD Projekt, declared that: "CD Projekt has always been oriented to gamers' needs, so releasing an adventure editor for the modding community is an obvious move. It's quite a demanding tool, however, and it will bring loads of satisfaction to many of the fans. After all, we made The Witcher with this tool. We've also prepared the first official mod with a completely new adventure which will be available to download for free."

The Price of Neutrality is the first official adventure that comes directly from CD Projekt. It offers some two hours of new game experience that focuses on the interaction between Gerald and other Witchers, the ones that only make brief appearances at the beginning of the game. There are new NPCs and some new graphics, as Kaer Morhen is the setting for the new adventure. There's even some talk of different endings for this new add-on adventure.

D'jinni is the name of the beta adventure editor. Its main aim is to let fans of the Witcher craft complete new adventures for Geralt using all the graphics, maps and NPCs in the original game. Although billed as a beta by CD Projekt they say that there's little difference between the tool that gamers get and the set of tools that the developers themselves used to make the original game. It's a very interesting move on the part of CD Projekt to let users fill in the blanks in Geralt's adventures, but one that's likely to be successful in the world of loyal and mod-oriented RPG players.
