A leading developer working on upcoming role playing game The Witcher 2 has stated that the team creating the game has not yet decided on specific downloadable content offerings but that the move to launch some for the game seems natural considering the breadth of the game universe the adventure is set in.

Tomas Gop, who is the senior producer working on The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, has told Games On Net as part of a wider interview that, “Nothing really solid that I want to talk about right now but yes, it seems a really natural move to go to DLC.”

He added, “There’s definitely a lot of stories there to be told.”

In previous statements Gop said that the team was thinking about DLC but that the main focus was on creating a core game that was solid and complex at the same time.

The Witcher 2 has impressed this year, with the developers offering demos that focused on the graphical power of the new, in house, game engine and on the freedom that the role playing experience will offer to players.

A much watched demo showed the same dungeon area tackled in different ways, with Gerald able to get through it using pure brawn, stealth sneaking or a mix of the two approaches.

The developers at CD Projekt says that The Witcher 2 will have the same deep role playing game elements of the first installment, with choices made early in the game having an impact much later on and combining to deliver what is rumored to be one of the 16 game endings.

The Witcher 2 is at the moment confirmed to launch on the PC sometimes in the first half of 2011 and CD Projekt is also said to be working on console versions that currently have no launch dates.
