The Witcher 2 is going to receive its first actual patch later this week, as CD Projekt, the game's publisher, confirmed that the update is nearing completion.

Many role-playing game fans eagerly awaited the release of The Witcher 2, as its developer, CD Projekt Red, hyped up many of its features before the release that happened last week.

Now, the developer has just revealed that a patch for the game is going to be released soon, taking it to version 1.1 and solving some of the issues encountered by players.

"Patch 1.1 is nearing completion and will be available shortly. It will address a number of issues reported by players such as keymapping, inverting the mouse, sudden crashes, problems with activation, difficulties with the game`s DLC, and more."

While the game didn't experience that many issues, players were met with some serious problems when trying to activate the game because of the glitchy process demanded by the SecuROM DRM software.

CD Projekt says that these issues are currently being fixed, but that players should also try different versions of their activation keys, in order to properly get through the process.

"There have been quite a few instances that involved entering the number zero (0); you should use the capital letter "o" (O). Also there have been cases where the number one (1), the lower-case letter "el" (l) and the capital letter "eye" (I) have been mixed up. Please try all possible permutations."

Visual problems are also going to be solved by the new patch, but CD Projekt also asks players of the new game to download the latest versions of drivers for their graphics cards, from either Nvidia or AMD, and even get the beta versions or the recently released hotfixes, in order to ensure maximum performance.

Expect The Witcher 2 patch 1.1 to appear later this week.
