The developers at CD Projekt have announced that their new role playing game The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is now officially set to be released on the PC on May 17, with a Collector's Edition prepared for those fans who would like to get more than the simple game experience.

Adam Badowski, who is the leader of the development team, has said that the announced date is further down the line than the team originally wanted, with the extra time used in order to give the title an extra coat of gaming polish and make sure that there are not technical bugs when it is released.

A listing coming from retail chain GameStop also talks about the Collector's Edition for The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, which is apparently set to sell for 129.99 dollars.

The Collector's Edition includes:

- a making of the game DVD, showing the creation process - the official soundtrack - two papercraft figurines based around the game and an unspecified bonus - a cursed coin and a pamphlet - 3 stickers - a set of dice - a Temerian coin - a sculpture of the main character, Geralt - an art book - a world map useful for tracking the movements of the player

But the real star of the Collector's Edition for The Witcher 2 is a Vernon Roche Commando Jacket, an unique in game item which is tied to an early game quest and increases the swordplay abilities of the character when it is equipped, making it a very important piece of kit for those players who want a nice boost to their power early in the experience.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is one of the most eagerly expected action role playing titles of 2011, with the developers at CD Projekt promising an experience which allows the player a lot of freedom in approaching challenges while offering better graphics, more solid gameplay mechanics and more stability.
