The developers at CD Projekt who are working on the upcoming action role playing game The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, have said that their title could be coming to home gaming consoles like the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 just months after it arrives on the PC as long as the technology allows it and there's demand for it.

Speaking to Eurogamer Marcin Iwiński, who is the Chief Executive Project of CD Projekt, has stated, “We’ve openly said our technology supports multiplatform”.

He added, “On the release of the PC version, we’ll see. We know how many players, especially in the UK as well as in the US, play on Xbox 360. We are pretty good at maths. That’s all I can say for now.”

Tomasz Gop, who is a producer working on The Witcher 2, says that the company is also looking to how it can move its game to consoles, detailing the process: “We already have performed a lot of tests. We’re doing a reality check every half a year or so. We take a level from the game and we try to put it inside our engine, because it’s console capable on Xbox 360 and PS3.”

Initially CD Projekt also talked about bringing the first Witcher title to gaming console but it canceled development on that title in order to concentrate on developing a sequel which offers a better experience than the original in all departments.

The game uses a new in house created game engine and looks good while also offering quite a bit of chose when it comes to how the gamer can tackle challenges.

The Witcher 2: Assasssins of Kings is set to be released exclusively on the PC on May 17, 2011 and gamers who cannot wait can now pre order the game from Good Old Games if they would like to get a non DRM version and from other digital distribution platforms.
