The gaming industry has seen a lot of trends come and go but there is one that has really caught on, downloadable arcade games. With titles being up for download at any hour of the day, via the Xbox Live Arcade, the PlayStation Network, or the WiiWare services, people are really interested in them.

Last year, Microsoft released the Xbox Live Summer of Arcade promotion, which brought a variety of high quality titles such as Braid or other games onto its Arcade section of the Xbox 360 Live Marketplace. This resulted in a lot of profit for both the company and the developers of the games in question. Now, it seems that Sony is aiming to overcome its archrival and has just announced the PlayStation Network Spring Fever promotion onto the PlayStation Store.

What does that mean? Sony will launch new and high quality arcade titles weekly in the following months, hoping to get people very interested in these new promotions and generate a big profit, one which the company definitely need these days. Although Spring won't officially start today, people will already get a chance to forget about Winter today, as Flower, a new arcade title, will be launched, part of the weekly update of the PS Store.

Here's the full lineup of titles that will arrive in the following weeks, as found on the PlayStation Blog:

-Flower -Noby Noby Boy -No Gravity -Wheel of Fortune -Burn Zombie Burn -Ragdoll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic -The Punisher: No Mercy.

In addition to these titles, PlayStation Network will also be launching Bomberman Ultra, Flock, Comet Crash, Watchmen and many more during this timeframe. The current blockbusters and exclusive titles, such as Crash Commando, Savage Moon, Echochrome, Pixel Junk Eden, PAIN, Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty, will still be available on the PlayStation Network.

PlayStation 3 users will also get a chance to view everything concerning this Spring Fever thanks to the new section that will be featured in the PlayStation Store.

All in all, it looks like there will be a lot of interesting titles to entertain all of the PS3 gamers.
