Sony is having a very good week on the home Japanese market with the PlayStation family taking the two top spots in the hardware charts, for the first time in quite some time, and soundly beating the Nintendo duo of handheld and home console. In the software charts, J-League Pro Soccer Club o Tsukurou! 6 from SEGA is the new release which takes the top spot.

The PlayStation Portable has managed to sell 38,770 units in one week to take number one, having just 272 units more than the PlayStation 3 home gaming console, which was in first spot last week. In a sea of good news, Sony must be worried by the slow sales of the PSP Go, which only managed to move 6,427 units.

The Nintendo DSi is sitting in third spot, selling 33,749 units as the DS Lite only managed to sell a littler over 5,000. The Nintendo Wii, which has recently received a price cut, seems to be unable to grow its sales, with only 26,764 units sold. The Xbox 360 sold around 4,000 consoles, while the PlayStation 2 is in last place in the hardware chart.

Sales of the PlayStation Portable have been boosted by the release of J-League Pro Soccer Club o Tsukurou! 6, which is traditionally a hit with Japanese gamers and which managed to sell 85,000 units in the first week. Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver managed to sell a further 63,000 copies on the DS, while Dragon Ball: Raging Blast from Namco Bandai for the PlayStation 3 debuted at number 3 with 58,000 copies in one week. Tomodachi Collection from Nintendo for the DS has another 56,000 to add to its tally, while Wii Fit Plus is continuing to fall in the chart, sitting at number five just ahead of the top spot from last week, World Soccer Winning Eleven 2010 from Konami.
