The weekly numbers for hardware and software charts in Japan have new leaders for the week that began on November 2 and ended on November 8 as seen in the data offered by Media Create, a firm which closely watches the market. Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 from Konami taps Japan's love of football in order to get to the top of the videogames chart, while the PlayStation 3 from Sony is the best sold gaming console in the country.

The PS3 has managed to surge to 48,925 in sales, probably because of the release of the new Pro Evolution Soccer, overtaking the Nintendo DSi, which managed to only move 37,421 consoles to players.

The older DS Lite also sold about 5,500 units. If sales of the PlayStation Portable Go and those of the PSP-3000 were counted together, they would also overtake the Nintendo handheld, with the Go selling 13,992 and with the PSP-3000 reaching 33,784. The Xbox 360 is only better than the PlayStation 2, moving 4,679 units.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 now seems as a step behind FIFA 10 from Electronic Arts when it comes to quality but it has proved it still has the chops to dominate a sales charts. The game managed to sell more than 217,000 copies in its first week on sales in Japan, the best result since the release of Wii Fit Plus in October and it has succeeded in holding off the challenge of Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver.

The Nintendo DS title has managed to sell 73,554 units and sits at number two with Wii Fit Plus holding on to third spot with 69,797 copies moved to gamers. Fourth spot went to Tomodachi Collection from Nintendo with 63,571 units and fifth to Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 from Atlus and for the PlayStation Portable with sales of 46,459 units.
