Power of the snow

Cyanide, the developer, and Focus Home Interactive, the publisher, have announced details about The Norse, another race set to be added to Blood Bowl in the upcoming Legendary Edition, and about the impact the great men will have on the game that is set to be launched at some point before the end of 2010.

The Norse team is capable of passing and throwing the ball like other, nimbler teams, but their main strength is represented by the Ulfwerners, more focused on brute power than on any finesse. They are able to block most of their opponents and can even enter a natural berserk state in order to make an advance. And when they are not enough to push through the Norse faction, they can also call upon the Yhetees, beats that are shaggier and bigger than any guy the opposing team can throw at them.

The Norse are also introducing a new stadium to Blood Bowl: Legendary Edition, complete with an outdoor setting and with snow covered pitch, making it particularly well suited for their brute strength play style.

Cyanide is also introducing a fresh Story mode for their blend of fantasy Warhammer and American football action. This will allow the player to take on the role of a freelance coach who must deal with challenges offered by a diverse array of teams, as the narrative aims to show off the way Blood Bowl, the cruel and bloody competition, was created. The campaign, alongside a new tutorial, is set to show players how the game can be played and familiarize them with the way the Blood Bowl Rulebook is being implemented.

There will be 20 races playable in the Legendary Edition of Blood Bowl and the developer is also promising that the Artificial Intelligence will be updated in order to put up more of a challenge regardless of the race it uses.
