14 DAY TRIAL // We just revealed the first pictures of Gigabyte’s X11 UltraBook this morning here. Now we got hold of the technical details, and the sheet is pretty impressive.
Unlike what we suspected, Gigabyte is not playing the price card and, while far from being cheap, it is not asking one cent more than what Apple’s currently demanding for its own MacBook Air in the 11.6” variant.
The Gigabyte X11 is reportedly priced between $999 and $1,299, and that coincides with Apple’s MacBook Air pricing.
The thing is that Gigabyte’s new baby comes with USB 3.0 and Intel’s latest Ivy Bridge while being 11% lighter.
It measures 297 by 192 by 3 to 16.5 millimeters (Length, Width and Thickness) and that’s just 11.6” by 7.55” by 0.11” to 0.64” in imperial.
Despite it looking good now, in Q3 2012 when it starts shipping, it will have to face the new version of Air from Apple.
With a price range between €800 and €1,040, Gigabyte’s X11 comes with a 4730mAh 35Wh battery that can keep it going for around 4 or 5 hours.
