This 4 years old and highly appreciated massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), Lineage II: The Chaotic Throne, will receive its largest expansion in the history: The Kamael. At more than 1 GB in size (and no, that's not the reason it is the largest), this expansion will be available in Europe starting the 1st of February this year, with a retail price of ?14.99 / ?19.99.

The main feature this expansion comes with is a new playable race, the Kamael - dark-magic, one-winged soldiers, with both male and female characters possessing distinct combat abilities. They come from the Isle of Souls and their ultimate goal is a little funny (for a puny mortal like me, at least): they want to earn their second wing and earn the powerful "final form". Doesn't this little detail make you think about some drunken, sad and psychotic creatures?

Together with the new race, The Kamael comes with additional pets, new fortresses to lay siege upon and high-level zones to conquer - the Isle of Prayer and Hellbound for the veterans above level seventy. And all these new features come already tested, since this expansion is available since December 2007 to active Lineage II subscribers and the feedback has been positive. And of course it was, since one of the "small" things The Kamael came with was a new and polished video recorder which allows players to capture their fights with the scariest bosses in the game.

Lineage II is an already classic MMO, with a strong fantasy theme, that has about 17 million subscribers worldwide. The game offers a very nice PvP system and offers the players the possibility to create clans and even alliances between them. Also, knowing that many people prefer to play the "bad guy" in MMOs and any other forms of multiplayer games, Lineage II comes with a Karma system that exposes these bad fellas - and we all know that the Good always wins, right?
