Steam is hosting a very special promotion this end of the year, as it has just revealed The Great Steam Treasure Hunt, an offer that tasks players with completing certain objectives, and then rewards them with games from their wishlist, as well as the possibility to pick out 100 games from the Steam portfolio that they can have for free.

As you can imagine, there are a few tricks to this offer, but it is still very tempting.

Since yesterday until December 20, Steam will be hosting the Great Treasure Hunt, in which, every two days, new objectives will be revealed on its dedicated web page.

These range from simple ones like setting up an avatar, to completing achievements in certain games, like Poker Night at the Inventory, Chime or R.U.S.E.

For those that don't have the games required in the Great Treasure Hunt, rest assured as Steam will be hosting pretty big discounts, so that you can buy them and complete your tasks.

Every two days, Valve will pick 20 players that completed at least one objective, and allow them to get 5 games from their wishlist for free.

You must have 10 games in your wishlist to qualify, but that won't be problem as you probably already have the list set up, thanks to the previous Thanksgiving offer Steam ran.

That's not all though, as you will also be able to unlock hats in Team Fortress 2, for completing 5, 15 and 28 objectives during the Treasure Hunt.

Last but not least, we have the most important prize of all.

Three players that have completed at least 10 objectives during the Treasure Hunt and that will log on during December 20, will be chosen to receive 100 games, completely for free.

That's right, Valve will allow players to choose 100 games from Steam's massive portfolio and all you have to do is complete at least 10 objectives.

Check out all of the details about the promotion, as well as the objectives you must complete at the dedicated Steam Treasure Hunt web page or in Steam itself.
