“With Gatsby, anything can happen.” Two brand new TV spots for Baz Luhrmann’s insanely anticipated “The Great Gatsby” have been released, and I feel that this quote from the second applies not just to the character, but to the film as well.

Based on the novel of the same name by F. Scott Fitzgerald, “The Great Gatsby” will attempt to bring back to life a time when excess was the norm, a time of dazzling beauty and unlimited possibilities.

Clearly, there’s no better man for the job than director Baz Luhrmann, whose previous work includes the equally stunning “Moulin Rouge” and “Romeo and Juliet.”

“The Great Gatsby,” if judged by just these two new television spots, will most definitely be one of the most epic and good looking releases of recent years. In 3D, no less.

It arrives in theaters in May.
