iPhone-ish look

After a fan-made Photoshop image and some sketches of what seemed to be Sony Ericsson P5i, now we have the first real photo with the super handset that should be released in the second quarter of 2008. A low-quality photo, that's true, but we finally get the chance to see what Sony Ericsson P5i looks like in reality. And apparently it looks a bit iPhone-ish, which is, of course, not a bad thing.

If all the rumors leaked until now are true, Sony Ericsson P5i should come with a 360 MHz Processor, 160MB of internal memory as well as MicroSD and Memory Stick M2 card support (for at least 4GB of extra memory, we hope). The phone should run Symbian 9.1 with the yet to come UIQ 4 platform. If not, the UIQ 3.2 will sure be featured.

The future Sony Ericsson phone has a wide 2.8 inch VGA screen with a 640 x 480 pixel resolution, which will be perfect for videos, photos, Web browsing and basically anything else you might like to do with the device. A completely new Touchscreen User Interface will be implemented, to offer the best possible mobile experience. Other leaked specifications include a 5 Megapixel camera with flash and Auto Focus (although we can hope for more, since 5 Megapixel is not a sensation anymore), GPS, WiFi and HSUPA connectivity (for data transfers at great speeds).

According to some sketches shown up a few weeks ago, Sony Ericsson P5i could come with a two-way sliding design, hence providing both a numeric keypad and a full QWERTY one. This is a beneficial factor for the phone's thickness, letting us hope the handset could be as slim as a Samsung (around 10 millimeters in thickness would be great).

There's no word yet about an estimative price for Sony Ericsson P5i. Anyway, until its official announcement, the other P-series super phone (the P3i model) will be released, bringing similar features to the ones that P5i packs.
