14 DAY TRIAL // The American company LifeSize announced that now its LifeSize Room conferencing system is available. After more than two years of development, the company offers its public the first HD (high definition) videoconferencing system, that brings a ten times better quality that the other existent systems'.
LifeSize Room promises a superior video quality, regarding the bandwidth. High definition needs 1 MBs, DVD quality needs 384 kbit/s and cable TV quality needs 768 kbit/s. LifeSize Room want to redefine the video communication experience. Now managers, project teams, educators or any colleagues in different locations can collaborate more efficiently and faster, at high quality.
The high definition technology of LifeSize Room allows a ten times better quality than the actual systems' and has a 22 kHz audio bandwidth, including a high definition codec. The conferencing equipment is made out of a PTZ camera, a phone for audio conferences and a wireless remote control for controlling of LifeSize Room's camera and other functions.
Other supported video standards are H.264 and h.263; LifeSize Room can share files with a PC using the H.239 standard. The actual videoconferencing systems offer limited resolutions of 352 X 288 pixels. But the high definition system built in LifeSize Room offers 1280 X 720 pixel resolutions. The telephony system offering 22 KHz bandwidth is capable of covering the whole room, both for transmitting and receiving, same as the built in audio system, powerful enough to make anyone heard.
The complete system includes a high definition code, a HD camera, a high definition conferencing telephone and a wireless remote control. Moreover, LifeSize Room is completely integrated for plug and play use and also any kind of monitor can be attached to it.
