This handset seems to be made for the Apple fans.

Apple fans and minimalist lovers, wherever you might be, I have found a phone that seems specially made to please you. Not only it has an almost perfect minimalist look, but it also has the click-wheel made famous by the iPod, your multimedia player of choice. The WS009KE mobile phone, aka the Willcom R9, will surely prove you that minimal is not just something very pleasing to the human eye (as far as I can tell) but that it can also be a concept that brings a certain feeling of tranquility we can't get from a high-tech device, all filled up with all kind of technologies we never use and that only exist for the few ones that actually need them. Why pay for them then?

So, follow my advice and buy yourself something like this. It isn't the ultimate mobile mean machine on the market but it is still able to offer perfect voice call handling, email and Internet access. Pretty much everything one needs on a phone, be it mobile or any other type you may think of. In my opinion, this device is one that stands out of the crowd and, if you don't know it or you have never been told before, this is a good thing especially when talking about something that does what it has been meant to do and it does it in style.

I'm sure there are some of you that call me a freak because I like a white (or black) brick, with nothing more to brag about than a 2 inch display and a thickness of 11.5 mm. If you are one of those, you are right to say that about the R9 but you fail to grasp the concept that probably haunted the minds of the people that developed it: an extremely minimal mobile phone that has only the most necessary things built-in, with the sleekness and feel of the iPod, an MP3 loved by a huge percentage of the individuals living on this planet.

They have surely been inspired by the multimedia player manufactured by Apple, they tried to come up with a phone look-a-like and some of you might blame them for what they did. I will not say you are wrong because everyone has the right to have its own opinion on a certain matter, but I can say I like it.

I like it so much that if one of these handsets will be available at a mobile store near me, I will go right away and buy it. Not for the features, because it almost doesn't have a spec sheet (almost), but for its brick iPod-like white (or black) looks. I would get the white version and, yes, that is enough of a reason for me (I guess there is a little Apple fan living inside me, somewhere down bellow).
