But it does not have a publisher

High Voltage Software is putting out a few new details regarding its shooter for the Nintendo Wii called The Conduit, which is supposed to be the first hardcore focused action game for the platform.

Talking to the MTV Multiplayer blog, Eric Nofsinger, the Chief Operations Officer of High Voltage, said that they aim to take advantage of the unique motion controls the Wii can offer. He stated that the Motion Plus features heavily in their projects, with plans to hook it up. "We want to support it. Probably for this version of the game there’s not going to be a whole ton of really extensive use of the Wii Motion Plus. For the sequel to the game, we definitely do want to incorporate more melee and things like that. We want to support it."

Even if they are now testing the Motion Plus and trying to implement support for it, the people who are developing The Conduit make it so that all players owning a Nintendo Wii can play their game without buying new control add ons. Eric Nofsinger added that “The game has to be fun with just the Wiimote and nunchuck. Even if you don’t have connectivity online, even if you don’t have Wii Speak, even if you don’t have Wii Motion Plus… if you don’t have anything but your Wii and the game, it’s got to be fun”.

Judging by the screenshots the developers have showed, the game is great; without managing levels of detail reserved for Gears of War 2, it will hold its own, with nice textures and a look which is not negatively influenced by the limited power of the Nintendo Wii. The game is set to launch sometime early in 2009, but the big problem is that there's no publisher at the moment, even though Nofsinger promises good news on that front soon.
