High Voltage talks about its great looking game

You have probably watched a dozen of times the first trailer released for the upcoming High Voltage FPS title, The Conduit and we are sure that if you did and you found out that the game is a Nintendo Wii exclusive, you were amazed. It is also very possible you kept repeating to yourself "It can't be true," and if that's the case, the developers have decided to put an end to all speculations and released a press statement detailing the game and confirming its uber-coolness.

The Conduit is being developed on the in-house Quantum 3 Game Engine and it has a big goal: to prove the entire world that the Nintendo Wii is not only a casual gaming console, but it can also bring high quality graphics and hardcore gameplay. In order to do that, the developers will bring us some eye-candy graphics (including, if you are a pro, dynamic environment mapping, interactive water with real-time reflection, and four-stage texture composition).

"Too many Wii owners have been told that the Wii is a casual platform with no room for serious games or top-tier graphics," said Eric Nofsinger, Chief Creative Officer at High Voltage Software. "With The Conduit, we intend to prove that theory wrong by providing gamers with the kind of title they imagined back when the platform was first announced."

High Voltage also detailed a very important aspect when it comes to first person shooters: weapons' mechanics. The company announced that every weapon was designed for the ground up having the Nintendo Wii in mind and each will provide different gameplay - one that's not possible on other platforms (and, hopefully, they're not only talking about the Wiimote).

With the game looking great and set for a Q1 2009 release, we truly hope that High Voltage will be able to bring a great experience - and nothing similar to some of its previous titles, such as America's Army.
