Harmonix and MTV Games, the two companies that are in charge of the Rock Band franchise, have announced that fans of the series will be able to download tracks for the music simulation titles from two up and coming American rock band, The Black Keys and Neon Trees.

The new downloadable content will be delivered tomorrow for all those who are playing Rock Band on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Nintendo Wii.

The Black Keys are one of the most exciting acts to break through to the mainstream this year.

The band was formed way back in 2001 by two brothers and has managed to put out no less than eight studio albums, with the 2010 released “Brothers” managing to debut at number 3 in the Billboard 200 chart.

Their music has been featured in movies like RocknRolla, School of Rock and I Love You, Man but also in television series like Dexter, Hung, Sons of Anarchy and Rescue Me.

The tracks that they are delivering to Rock Band are: “Strange Times” and “I Got Mine” from the album “Attack & Release”, launched in 2008, and “Your Touch” from “Magic Potion”, first sold in 2006.

Neon Trees were first noticed while opening for The Killer in 2008 and they have released their first album this year.

The tracks from Neon Trees that are coming to Rock Band are: “Animal”, “Sins of My Youth” and Neon Trees – “1983”.

The two track packs will be available for 440 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360, which is the equivalent of just over 5 dollars, while individual tracks can be bought for 200 Wii Points, 160 Microsoft Points or 1.99 dollars.

At the moment Harmonix and MTV Games are preparing to launch Rock Band 3, which comes with full keyboard simulation and a new set of instruments.
