Sometimes informations leak from press releases, too

It was expected that a franchise like Guitar Hero will get a sequel soon and there were already rumors that the fourth iteration is going to hit the market this year. Now it seems that the game has been officially confirmed, but, as strange as it might seem - not by Activision. The ones who apparently confirmed the game via a press release are the members of a British band called The Answer.

According to Eurogamer, a press release from the band confirms that "Never Too Late", The Answer's song, will be one of the 20 to appear in Guitar Hero IV, which is set to be launched at the end of 2008, just in time for a Christmas purchase. We have searched for that press release but we couldn't find it anywhere so, until any official comments are made, we'll consider this a rumor.

Here is what James Cassidy, UK boss of music label Alberts, said: "This is a tremendous honour and privilege for both The Answer and the Alberts label. With a new album due later this year we look forward to taking the band to a whole new level of international success."

Of course, if this really is true and if the band will still have its song featured in Guitar Hero IV (Activision could be a little mad right now because the info was leaked), it is very likely to see some boosted sales for this unknown British band, as all the songs that featured in GH games did. Hopefully, it is not just a hoax by a band that tries to gain some more popularity.

Still, it seems that more than 200 songs were submitted by music companies for the March? international de l'?dition musicale (or Midem conference) and Activision plus experts chose 20 of them to appear in the Guitar Hero IV game. Probably the rest were chosen, too, and they will be available as downloadable content later, since this franchise can still make tons of gamers to spend their money for.

Here is the live version of the song that appears to be one of the 20 chosen for GH4:
