The Comic-Con madness has ended, but one can easily infer it will take another couple of weeks before its echoes stop resounding in the media. To make it easier for all “Twilight” fans who could not just fly to San Diego for the event this year, Rotten Tomatoes has just compiled a list of ten fun facts about the second installment, “New Moon,” as they were revealed during Comic-Con.

Judging from the videos presented at Comic-Con and based on the interviews both members of the cast and the director gave to the media, the first fact that Rotten Tomatoes underlines about the upcoming film is that, clearly, Summit Entertainment knows its target audience by heart. As fans must know, two videos were premiered at the conference and both had in common one thing: the male leads, Edward and Jacob, were shirtless at one point or another. To say that Summit gave “Twilight” fans precisely what they had been asking and waiting for is clearly an understatement, RT says.

Other two facts about “New Moon” is that director Chris Weitz has used dialog straight from the book, with the script of the film literally quoting entire pages from Meyer’s novel, and that Kristen Stewart is completely aware that her character Bella is a complete nutcase in the second film, as she said so herself. Then comes the obvious again, namely that young Taylor Lautner is the press-friendly superstar Summit needed to keep the interest alive, as RT puts it. When compared with Stewart and Pattinson, both of whom are rather awkward when cameras are around, Lautner is like manna from the sky, always answering questions and having a nice thing to say for journalists and fans.

Things haven’t changed that much for Stewart in the year since “Twilight” came out, RT says, in the sense that, “Life is just as crazy and her answers just as wry as they were during ‘Twilight.’” Constantly hounded by the media, the actress seems to live in a world of her own, so that, when someone asked her what had changed with fame, her answer was that she had cut her hair off. Next up, “The New Moon kids like it when their characters suffer. Asked which scene in New Moon was their favorite, each star picked one in which their characters broke up with each other.” Rotten Tomatoes writes. Since we’re on the topic of characters, another “New Moon” fact revealed at Comic-Con is that Kristen Stewart can’t wait to have Pattinson’s baby – on film, in the upcoming installment –, while Pattinson is dying to “perform the Caesarian.”

The last three facts revealed about the film at the event are related to the popularity of the franchise. “If you post a New Moon reaction video to YouTube, Chris Weitz is probably watching it right now.” and, “Twilight fanaticism was as strong as ever this year.,” with the last one having to do with the backlash in the media and amongst other comic book fans. “The anti-Twilight backlash finally has a name! You know your favorite fantasy property has really made it when entire Comic-Con costumes are created just to complain about it (i.e. the mostly-male Con attendees sporting ‘Twilight Ruined Comic-Con’ signs).” Rotten Tomatoes concludes by saying.
