The first, never-before-scenes from “New Moon” have been premiered at Comic-Con in San Diego. Posters were unveiled, ripped torsos were exposed, actors smiled and fans screamed at the top of their lungs, but the biggest event of the convention was still the Q&A with the cast members and Director Chris Weitz, the LA Times Blogs informs.

Actors Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, and Director Weitz were all on the panel at the convention, and fans were literally dying to have their questions answered. Still, they had to wait until the first two scenes from the film were premiered, much to the delight of the fans. As of now, the videos have yet to be released officially by Summit, so we’ll just have to make do with the reports on it for the time being.

“The first: A scene Jacob and Bella just as she’s learning to ride her motorcycle. In short, it’s eye-candy central for ‘Twilight’ fans. (This assessment is based purely on the number of ear-piercing screams that went off during two minutes of footage, of course.) Bella is sunk and depressed but as she picks up speed, her visions of Edward admonishing her increase – read: she whizzes by multiple hallucinations of Pattinson. Yessir, they’ve really managed to get around that whole Edward-being-gone-for-most-of-the-book thing. When she crashes, Jacob removes his shirt to stop the bleeding on her head. They have a charged moment.” the aforementioned source says of the first clip presented.

The second one is even better by all means, since it also features Edward, in the flesh this time. “Oh, but Team Edward comes back in full force for the second clip – a surprising look at the climax of the film. Turns out Weitz really wanted to reward those who had camped out overnight for this because he brought never-before-seen footage of the moment when Bella rescues Edward from shirtless suicide in Italy. It’s a sea of red hoods in the middle of Venice’s San Marco festival, with Bella pounding through the crowds toward the clock tower where she knows Edward is about to expose himself to the on-looking Volturi vampires. It’s all slow-motion intensity, and Weitz should feel nothing but relieved that even a glimpse of Pattinson removing his shirt is enough to send these soon-to-be-ticket-holding moviegoers into a frenzy. Well played, sir, well played, indeed.” the LA Times Blogs reads.

All in all, the thousands of fans who even camped overnight for a seat at the convention had nothing to be disappointed about the introduction of “New Moon,” if that was ever the question. For the full Q&A with the cast, please see here, and keep an eye on this space for more updates.
