Canadian mobile phone carrier Telus has finally unveiled an official release date for both its new HSPA+ network as well as for the handsets related to it. November 5 is the day starting with which the carrier's customers will be able to enjoy the enhanced speeds the new network is capable of delivering, as well as the date when new handsets will become available.

Among the new mobile phones we can count the Apple iPhone, which is set to become available for purchase for Telus' users priced at $99.99 for the basic 8GB iPhone 3G, and going all the way up to $199.99 for the 16GB 3GS, and $299.99 for the 32GB 3GS. Telus will have the iPhone available at these price tags for those willing to sign up on a three-year contract agreement.

The November 5 launch of the iPhone makes Telus the second carrier in the country to have Apple's device on its airwaves, after Rogers has lost the exclusivity on distributing it in Canada. The company seems set to offer the handset at the same price tag as its rival, and it remains to be seen how much Bell will ask for the iPhone when it will launch it.

However, the iPhone is not the only new device that will soon come to Telus' users. The carrier also has in store appealing devices like the HTC Hero, as well as the LG BL40 New Chocolate. Moreover, it will also add to its offering the newly unveiled Blackberry Bold 9700, also known as the Bold 2 or Onyx. Nokia E71 is another mobile phone that should play nicely with the carrier's upcoming network.

Unfortunately, it seems that there are no exact details on the price tag of these handsets, except for the iPhone. Even so, the HTC Hero and the LG BL40 New Chocolate seem to be Telus' exclusives, as both have the “To be available only from TELUS” tag added on the carrier's website. All these phones can be seen on Telus' website here. Stay tuned for more details on this.
