Video game developer Telltale Games and Robert Kirkman, the creator of the Walking Dead series and the recipient of an Eisner Award, have announced that, as they develop the game based on the comic book, they’re also taking the time to talk to gamers about the title using a new online talk show, called Playing Dead.

The host of the new series is AJ LoCascio, who provides the voice for Marty McFly in the Back to the Future: The Game series that Telltale created. It will offer nine full episodes featuring such guests as Kirkman himself and Garry Whitta, who has worked as screenwriter for The Book of Eli and who serves as story consultant on The Walking Dead.

Dan Connors, the chief executive officer and one of the founders of Telltale, stated, “Telltale has always believed in sharing and interacting with our fans as much as possible as we head towards the launch of a game and Playing Dead is an exciting evolution of that process.

“I don’t think any other developer or publisher has created anything quite like this before and we really hope that people will enjoy it.”

Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead, added, “Collaborating with Telltale on The Walking Dead continues to be a fantastic process. They understand the world and the characters that I created and what it takes to make a game out of them.

“What’s really exciting is that they’re telling a new story with new characters, so you’ll get to see the same world Rick Grimes did, but now from a different point of view.”

He believes that Playing Dead will be a unique video game experience and he has complete trust in the ability of the development team at Telltale to capture the essence of the Walking Dead comic book series.

Those who want to enjoy the new Playing Dead show can go to the official website of the game or can wait for it to become available on iTunes, the PlayStation Network or Xbox Live.
